About Our Founder
Eryn’s immense artistic agility is anchored by a legendary American heritage, descending directly from a world-class genetic lineage that includes operatic soprano Kathleen Battle, jazz icon Phyllis Hyman, and celebrated stage actor Earle Hyman. This profound genetic and acoustic legacy was first recognized when Eryn was just seven years old, when her third-grade music teacher, Mrs. Bartlett, played a classical recording of the legendary soprano Leontyne Price. Having never seen the sheet music, Eryn’s rare, finely-tuned musical ear intuitively map-read the phrase, allowing her to sing the selection straight back to her instructor. This instinctual framework layout remained a foundational cornerstone of her development, driving her to amass a sweeping, lifelong subconscious vocal archive spanning Classical, Jazz, Reggae, Folk, Country, Rock, and Gospel.
Her formal technical pedigree includes extensive private vocal training at the Boston Conservatory under Merrill Shea, rigorous theatrical stage preparation in New York and Boston under legendary master acting teachers Gene Frankel and Peter Kelley, and jazz dance training at Northeastern University with Stathis Stratis. Backed by this rigorous background, Eryn has produced global digital streams and stage-managed massive, large-scale live productions at The Potter's House Dallas. She holds an M.S. in Entertainment Business and a B.S. in Digital Cinematography, and is completing an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Full Sail University—a rare combination of credentials that injects an unparalleled narrative and visual edge into independent media publishing.
As a competitive classical vocalist, Eryn made her debut at the prestigious American Traditions Competition for Singers in Savannah, Georgia—an elite national stage demanding ultimate multi-genre versatility. In her very first year under the lights, her vocal gift instantly commanded the room. Metropolitan Opera legend Blanche Thebom declared that she loved the way Eryn's vocals, "flowed freely whether performing Jazz or Classical," while Jazz legend Ronnie Wells celebrated her performance by proclaiming she possessed, "range galore."
After competing as a quarterfinalist for three consecutive years, Eryn realized that conventional preparation was insufficient to shatter the artistic glass ceiling. Returning to her roots, she codified the intuitive, somatic auditory protocol she had designed as a child—where she sat on the living room floor listening to compositions repetitively, transcribing the lyrics by hand, memorizing text line-by-line, and executing weeks of rigid rehearsal conditioning to achieve stylization—along with the professional voice, acting, and dance training she had since added, into a structured, repeatable framework.
Armed with this comprehensive methodology, she returned for her fourth year in the landmark season of 2000, completely shattering the ceiling to advance straight into the Semi-Finals, receiving a resounding standing ovation from her peers. Dr. Ysaye Maria Barnwell greeted Eryn at the door of the feedback room with a mother's pride, declaring that she believed Eryn had won the competition the moment she stepped on the stage. Dr. Barnwell turned to the legendary panel of adjudicators—which included icons William Warfield, Odetta, Shirley Jones, and George Shirley—asking if they agreed, and the panel responded with a unanimous, resounding consensus. It was fellow master adjudicator and legendary Broadway composer Charles Strouse who looked at Eryn and declared, "You are an amazing communicator. What do you want to do with your gift?"
